Disneyland
History
Walt Disney had a vision about a place where children and parents could have together. Walt needed to find a place that had enough room for rivers, waterfalls, mountains, he also wanted flying elephants, giant teacups and a fairytale castle. Finally he found a place that could hold all of that, he purchased 160 acres in Anaheim, California.
Construction for Disneyland began on July 21,1954 exactly one year before the park opened. Walt would make five different lands. They would be Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. Main Street looks just like the town Walt grew up in. Adventureland was created to look like the jungle like in Africa or Asia. Frontierland was created for us to go back to the pioneer days. Fantasyland was created to "Make dreams come true". Finally Tomorrowland was created to look like "Marvels of the future".
Opening Disneyland was day to remember but not in a good way. There was a fifteen day heat wave up to 110 degrees , there was also a plumber strike which caused the water fountains not to work. The asphalt was not dry because it was laid the night before literality trapping people. The heat wave continued and almost wiped out the whole park. The park eventually was fixed and by 1965 ten years after the opening day fifty million people came though those gates. (Aldridge)

Geographical Locations
Disneyland is a international company. There are over five resorts, four of them are Disneyland and one is Disneyworld. The four Disneyland's are located in California, Paris, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. The only Disneyworld is in Florida. The main headquarters is in Burbank California.(Vaux, Robert)
Disney has approved over 8,000 business to sell there products. Before any of those business can sell there Disney's product they have to have license approved by Disney to sell it. If company's sell Disney products without a license they will get fined a certain amount of money. (Aldridge)
Culture of the company
Walt Disney created motto for Disneyland when it first opened "The Happiest Place on Earth" and Disneyland to this day is still known for that name. Disneyland has five core values
1) No cynicism allowed
2) Fanatical attention to consistency and detail.
3) Continuous progress via creativity, dreams and imagination
4) Fanatical control and preservation of Disney "magic" image
5) "To bring happiness to millions" and to celebrate, nurture, and promulgate "wholesome American values".
Disneyland has there core values as a business decisions. It represents why the company exists . This business is a place where people of any ages can go to be happy. According to Walt Disney "we create happiness".(World Class Benchmarking)
Stage of Lawrence Kohlberg's
Lawrence Kohlberg's has three levels and each level has two stages showing us a reasoning process over time. the three levels are preconventional , conventional, and post conventional. In my opinion Disneyland is at post conventional level, which is the highest level. Disneyland talks about there principles, moral values and core values.
As discussed in the culture of the company Disneyland started off with its five core values. Disneyland is like stage five social contract legalistic orientation. Disneyland gets a lot of criticism on its park or product but they still stick to there roots and they follow there core value of "To bring happiness to millions". Disneyland just want to be that one place that brings joy and happiness to all ages.
Code of Ethics
Disneyland has a standards of business conduct on there Walt Disney company website. It is a PDF that is twenty-five pages long. It starts off with a letter from cooperate and what they expect from there company. Then it goes into the table of contents talking about six different category's
It starts off with integrity and what there standards are, second is trust there commitment to guest and customers, third is teamwork there commitment to each other, fourth is honesty our commitment to the company and shareholders, fifth is play by the rules there commitment to lawful business practices and finally respect our commitment to the community.(The Walt Disney Company.)
The 3 levels
Disneyland focuses on ethical behavior, corporate social responsibility and corporate governance. Disneyland seems to put more involved in ethical behavior and corporate social responsibly . As a company they are ethical by the choices they have made.
Disneyland has done many charity event's at there own park. According to Disneyland public affairs there were 16,000 walkers and they raised two million dollars for CHOC children. This was the twenty-third annual walk at Disneyland. Disneyland does many other walks/ runs each year, they even bring the most talented bands in from high school to perform in there parade.(Stobeck)
Human Resources
Human resources is talked about in the code of ethics in the PDF. If anyone is harassing or not following there contract they signed in the beginning they will get reported either with a warning or be fired. Everyone who is hired will receive a handbook of what Disney wants and what they expect. Each person will sign a contract about the rules. Disney's main rules are honesty and respect. (The Walt Disney Company)
Conflict of interest
A conflict of interest is a situation in which one relationship or obligation is placed in direct conflict with existing relationship or obligation . According to Disneyland code of ethics they state that all decisions should be the best for the company and they vote hoping to make a conclusion each park has there own board directors. If unable to make a decisions it goes up to the presidents of Disneyland.
Triple Bottom line
A phase in 1994 by John Elkingten. The triple bottom line of the 21st century business is describing the separate financial, social and environmental "bottom lines" of companies. Disneyland does not have a triple bottom line. But Disneyland's one mission is to make this one place the happiest place on earth. A place people want to go of all ages.
Corporate social responsibility
Disneyland is a Altruistic company meaning they give back to the company's local community and design international programs. Disneyland is big on giving back to others . They do many charity's for people like the run/walk around the park and they do many charity's. Disneyland has raised about 60k a year for all there charity's.
They have actually participated in helping raise money for a little girl who has brain cancer. Disneyland wants to make sure that everyone gets a chance to visit there wonderful place especially is little girl . Disneyland wants to do the best for our community. (Stobeck)
Evolution/Revolution of Company
Disneyland when it first opened was at the preconventional stage when there grand opening was a disaster. But once they got up and running they jumped to post conventional. Everyone loved being in Disneyland, even on the grand opening was a disaster they still had millions of people going to it.
Walt Disney goal for Disneyland was to make it a place where everyone can go as a family and have a great time, and he has made that happen even with him gone. Disneyland has stuck to its core values and has made it a magical place. Its crazy to think this one guy had a idea and even through it didn't succeed the first time he tried again and made it work. He did so well that Disneyland is the #1 theme park.
Corporate Governance
Walt Disney corporate governance is posted on the Walt Disney company website. The website starts off with the board of directors by there name and how long they have worked there. Walter Salmons 22 questions is part of Disneyland. Questions number four is the board the right size (8-15 members) and the answer is yes there are nine members.
A possible danger for Disney would be there are five different locations which means five different people in charge. With so many people in charge it could cause conflict on there decision for each park and not coming up with the right choice. Another conflict would be what if they run out of ideas for the park since they change so much.(The Walt Disney Company)
